NOT Gate Using NAND Gate
A NOT logic Gate can be made using NAND logic gates. As we know, NAND is a universal logic gate, meaning it can be used to build other basic logic gates such as NOT, AND, OR, XOR, and XNOR. Implementing a NOT gate using a NAND gate is useful when you need a NOT logic circuit but only have NAND gates available; a NOT logic gate is unavailable.

NOT logic gate and NAND logic gate, both are different in terms of output. So we have to implement a NAND gate in such a way that its results are exactly similar to a NOT logic gate.
NOT Logic Gate
NOT logic gate is also called an inverter, which generates an output that is the opposite of the input. NOT logic gate truth table and its symbols are given below

NAND Logic Gate
A NAND logic gate produces a LOW output (0) only when all inputs are HIGH (1). For all other input combinations, the output is HIGH (1). Below are the truth table and symbols for the NAND logic gate.

NOT Gate Using NAND Gate
We can design NOT gate using NAND gate, even if a NOT gate is unavailable. A NOT gate can be made using only one NAND gate. To do this, connect both inputs of the NAND gate and use them as a single input A.

The truth table of NOT gate using NAND gate is given below
